level gauging. The Rosemount TankRadar® Rex is the first radar level gauge in the world to be approved by an accredited laboratory according to the new, international recommendations for custody transfer OIML R 85 (E).
Rosemount Exceeds OIML Requirements
The Rosemount TankRadar® system has fulfilled and exceeded all the requirements of OIML R 85. The standard temperature range has even been extended from -25 - + 55 degrees C to -35 - + 70 degrees C.

The Test Report
Rosemount TankRadar® Rex has been tested and approved according to OIML R 85 edition E. The tests have been performed by the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute (SP), which has received accreditation by the Swedish government to make these tests. Accreditation means that independent experts check that SP has the necessary skills and methods to make a scientifically correct test. SP is the only laboratory in the world today that has received accreditation for OIML R 85.
The tests that are performed according to OIML R 85 covers a lot of different issues, and are the most ambitious test that is performed for a tank gauge system. Accuracy requirements are within +/- 1 mm (3/64 inch), where requirements at transfer are most severe. The performance is also checked under disturbed conditions such as: high temperature, low temperature, high humidity, thermal shock, effects from hysteresis, effect from discrimination, EMC disturbances, power interrupts, etc.
